I guess the standard popular height for high heals has grown from 3 or 4 inches to 5, 6 and higher. I'm a little bit in awe, I seriously doubt I could actually WALK in something higher then 4 inches and even that is questionable. Besides, if I had to run somewhere wearing something taller I'd be in serious trouble.
Anyway here is a slideshow with a link to the article about it. Sadly, I thought that virtually every single shoe in the slideshow was uuuugly! The only pair I even slightly liked was number 7 the black tie heals from the Louis Vuitton spring collection.
