Tattoo followup

Not that any of us are surprised but that Belgian teenager I wrote about a few days ago who claimed a tattoo artist drew 56 stars on her face, rather than the three she asked for, has admitted she lied.

h/t my mom who sent me the follow up email a couple days ago. I saw this article about it today as well.

I haven't read it in any articles I've seen, but someone posted on the message board I go to that she had read in an article (so not even second hand news ... what then? fourth hand?) that the girl had wanted the tattoos to cover up acne scarring she has. So instead of being a nut case who thought life would be more fun with an odd face, she is an embarrassed kid who thought life would be more bearable if the distracting look of her face was something of her own choosing. So part of me wants to feel sorry for her ... but then I remember she lied about it, and could have gotten the artist in a lot of trouble if she hadn't admitted the lie, and I can't feel any sympathy at all.
